The study attempts to understand impoverishments risks and livelihood restoration strategies in involuntary displacement and resettlement in Godavari river basin in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The study focuses on the intra household and gender dimensions of already displaced and likely to be displaced households of the mega project Indira Sagar /Polavaram dam in the state. Interstate water disputes: a transboundary analysis of Krishna water dispute

The proposed study seeks to gain deeper understanding about the politics surrounding the interstate water disputes in India. The study seeks to develop an understanding about the multi-scalar and contingent strategies of various political actors, and their impact over livelihoods through a case study of the Krishna water dispute. Livelihood Linkages and Tradeoffs in the Downstream Floodplains of River Basins: A Study of Kole Lands in Trissur, Kerala

The broad objective of the study is to examine the ecological, economic and livelihood linkages as well as tradeoffs in the use and management of Kole lands in Thrissur, Kerala. Specifically, the study focuses on wetland agriculture interactions in Kole lands and associated livelihood issues. The Study is expected to be completed by August 2010 and has been carried out by Dr. Jeena T Srinivasan and Dr. Jyothis Sathyapalan.
