Assessment of Economic and Ecological returns from Millet based Organic farms

Description :

This research focuses particularly to current agricultural policies with respect to organic farming. The study tries to understand its contribution to livelihoods of poor living in the dryland region of Andhra Pradesh. The study will be conducted by Mr Suresh B Reddy at RULNR, CESS in collaboration with TIMBAKTU collective, an NGO located in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. Title of the Study :

Social Protection for Migrants: inclusive governance in Urban India

Description :

The circular rural-urban migration has become an important strategy of maintaning the livelihood systems of poor people living in rural areas. However policy and urban infrastructure remain ill-equipped to addressing the needs of migrants. In this perspective, the study will focus on the urgent need of social protection for migrants. The study focuses on the migration patterns in one city and 20 smaller towns in Maharashtra. Title of the Study :

Spatio-temporal variation of groundwater resources in Andhra Pradesh

Description :

The main objective of the study is to analyse the trends in ground water development in Andhra Pradesh using time series data from 1985 to 2007. The study will also look into issues related to the impact of spatio-temporal variations of groundwater resources in rain-fed areas on socio-economic conditions of users in selected DPAP and Non-DPAP districts. The study will be conducted by Dr.M. Srinivasa Reddy and Prof. V.Ratna Reddy at RULNR, in collaboration with State Groundwater Department of Andhra Pradesh and APFMGS.
